It has already been a tragic season for the state with the loss of two firefighters in California, we as firefighters need to keep situational awareness at mind at all times. The fires this year seem to be burning with more intensity, moving faster and changing direction more frequently. It is up to each and every one of you that work wildland fires to protect yourself and each other don't be afraid to speak up if you feel that your safety has been compromised.

Being aggressive is the way of the fire service, I think we should continue to be aggressive but certainly be aware that the ground we are on is not worth a loss of life.
