I would have to agree with Greg. Major Burns was a big part of everything Hawkeye and the rest had to deal with. From him "trying" to be Army strict with everyone to his adultery with "Hot Lips". Him being the butt of most practical jokes helped make the show what it was. Having an uppity, spoiled Major Winchester just changed everyones storyline, but it definately worked too.

i would haft to say frank. Winchester was a sissy and wined aout everything. Plus frank got to get together with hotlips.

It was always funny as hell when they made fun of burns, but Frank got annoying. Charles ... I dont really know what to say about him but he thought he was better than everyone else. I cant really say.

Charles never seemed to fit in to me. I think that the character was too forced and kind of cartoonish. There were some good episodes but I just didn't think the character worked.

Frank for all his faults was kind of real. Until the end when I think they didn't really know what to do with him.
