We regret to advise you that this afternoon, at 1554 hours, FIRE POLICE CAPTAIN WILLIAM McDANIELS SR with the Mocanaqua Volunteer Fire Department, responded to an automatic fire alarm in Shickshinny Borough, suffered chest pains and difficulty breathing upon arrival at the scene. He advised other Firefighters he didn't feel well, sat down on the rig as he was suffering a heart attack. He was immediately treated and transported but unfortunately, the Firefighter died at 1737 hours.
