We regret to advise you that a 64-year-old Firefighter had a heart
attack at the scene of a chimney fire and later died at local
hospital in Marinette County, WI last night. Athelstane FD Chief
Scott Durian identified the Firefighter this morning as Bob Phillips
who had been with the department for about 3 years. He was also
employed by Fleming's Fire where he sold fire apparatus and
equipment, As fire operations were winding down, FF Phillips was
operating the pump when he suddenly collapsed. Our deepest
condolences to all effected and especially the Phillips family.
Phillips, Robert W. Age 64, of Athlestane and Pewaukee, died Friday, October 26, 2007 while at the scene of a fire in Athlestane, WI. He will be missed by his wife Kathleen (nee; Lane) Phillips, his daughter; Kim Schmid, his grandchildren; Hannah R. and Skyler R. Schmid, his brother Roger (Laurie) Phillips, and his sister-in-law Sharon Lane along with other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law James Lane. Visitation will be Wed., Oct. 31 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Services continue on Thur., Nov. 1 with visitation at the funeral home from 9:00 AM until the 10:00 AM Funeral Service. Burial will follow at the City of Delafield Cemetery.
