Ijust lost my very first EMT partner and a great friend .We rode motorcycles together worked and laughed alot . You know its hard for us not to be able to help those we care about the most . i guess i just need to vent and what better place . I know he is in a much better place and free from the pain. We wanted to get a bike with a sidecar so he could go for one last ride but he left us last nite at 2215 god speed and love to Dan
Really, really sorry to read this Don. I'm a Leukemia (AML) survivor myself. So, I've walked the line, but now I'm 4 months from being declared cured. AML is one type that you can walk away from after many months of chemo. I've know people though with other forms, that didn't make it. Some...from my department. My mother died from brain cancer, just months after I got married and just before I became a firefighter. So I stayed in the service, to honor her memory, in my mind and in my action's. Just keep taking those bike rides, in Dan's memory. Be safe!
