I am honored to have been asked to join Firefighter Nation. I often write and conduct Surveys on stress management for large groups of emergency responders. It's important to openly discuss the issues--and lobby in the right places for education, funding, and change!! No employer, city or state agency would intentionally disregard the issues of emergency responders. Everything, quite simply, is linked to financial issues. I have often stated that municipalities and leaders in EMS DO worry about litigation, so they CANNOT welcome too much talk about stress in emergency responders via Surveys (like I develop)--but privately, all men and women involved in dealing with EMS are cheering America's Heroes. My goal is to help get the stress strategies and appropriate budgets enacted to make things run more smoothly.
