My fiance' Matt is a firefighter and first responder in West Fort Ann Volunteer Fire Company. He's been with his company since he was 16 (about 8 years). We have been dating for 4 years, and we've been engaged for 2 years.

My FF hubby is Steve(n) Jacob.

He got his military FF education W A Y back in 1988. Then he had to take the civillian FF 1 & 2 courses to be a civillian FF because our state is one that does not recognize the miilitary training and certs. Good enough for the government...not good enough for the state.

He is actually on 3 seperate departments;
1) has been part ot the 1439th Eng. Det. FF Unit for the MARNG for 5 years now. Paid part time (one weekend a month and two weeks during the summer unless they get deployed again and then they can keep them up to 24 months before sending them home)
2) Has been part of the CGMTCFD for just about 3.5 years Vol. Paid on call and
3) Member of the Grayling City/Township FD for 3 years. Vol. Paid on call.
We started dating 10 years ago after knowing each other on and off for most of our lives (we went to the same schools from 3rd grade) and married 9 years ago. Together we have 6 kids and 3 grandkids with one grand on the way (April)

Well my significant other is 34 and grew up in the company. He is asst. Chief for Bernville Fire Co 29. We are together a little over 2 years. we are both in the process of divorce. We are both involved in the fire co and I only became involved in the last year or so. My father was a firefighter in the same company all my childhood. The relationship can be trying at times for he is always right. We have had ups and downs but I do love him with all my heart

I bf Gary is the asst. chief at one dept. and the truck capt. for our dept. He was raised in the fire service and has been a ff. at one place or another since he was 16.
I always had an interest in the fire service but never really saw it as something I wanted to do until a friend asked me to join with her so she wouldnt be the only woman. I totally feel that fate had me go along with her so that I could meet my match.
