I have served on an Urban Search and Rescue team for three years. This year I had my first deployment. I am not counting mobilization drills. That was to Hurricane Dolly in Texas in July. Over the next two months I had two more deployments.
Here is my question for the group. One of our responsibilities is to plan our route, find food, and gas stops. I am looking for any suggestions for websites or resources that help find these items. I also am wondering if anyone knows about a trip planner that will:
1. Allow you to put in start and ending destinations
2. Allow you to put in miles between stops
3. Based on mileage inputted will find truck stops or restaurants
4. Based on average miles per hour calculate your travel time
5. Would be nice if you could tell it when you want to end for the day
I realize that Microsoft Streets and Trips will do some of this. But, I cannot get it to find gas stops for me.
Also, any other links or sites that you know of will be appreciated. Currently, I use Garmin's map software with a GPS unit connected to my laptop, Google Maps, and Next Exit Online.
