why would you say that they suck? that is disrespectful

I said they "usually" do. Not all do, but aesthetically many of them are very poorly done or not kept up-to-date.

I honestly believe that a website is a form of communication and if your message isn't clear or even hard to understand you run the risk of people not taking you seriously.

I've been doing this as a volunteer for a long time and I have more respect for the service than most of the general public, but it also saddens me to see us do such a poor job at communicating exactly who we are and why we are important. A well maintained and properly executed website could do just that.

****A little update*****

A few weeks ago I re-designed/developed our website and started selling some ad's here and there to people who I knew were business owners and might be interested.

In 10 days I secured 7 businesses at $50 per year. That is pure profit for us because there really is no out-of-pocket expenses. I now have 4 more new ones lined up for the site.

I don't know of a fund raiser we've ever done where we made over $500 profit without a single penny spent.

Something to consider people.... I can help if you're interested.

Hey Chris, I think your idea is an excelent one and your right, The overhead of doing such a thing is very low, little to none. I am very intrested in learning more about it and any ideas you might have.
