There have to be some bowhunters here. I get into archery a 3-4 years ago. Picked up an older Browning compound at a tag sale. Bought some arrows and field tips, and started shooting a target in the backyard. Must have bent 30-40 aluminum arrows during that time. Got my state cert. for archery and was O.K. for a couple of years (even if I didn't get anything, I was still out in the woods a few more days in the fall). Then the wooden limb broke. One day I was shooting target in the yard, pulled back,...and CRACK! That put an end to that for a while. I now have a new Parker dual cam compound, a half dozen carbon arrows cut to my short draw (28") plus 1". Now all I need is a dry weekend and enough daylight so I can shoot! (working lots of OT lately!)

Hey sounds like you have a good setup but dont forget to look at what broad heads you are useing. Some broad heads plain really bad and some dont. Something else to look at is putting some helicle to your arrows vanes. This will help with planing or the broadhead steering your arrows. Your local sport shop should be able to help you with most of your questions. Just have to remember to practice practice practice. Good luck with all of your shooting.
i stated bow hunting about 2 yrs ago and never shot a deer with it until last season.im glad i got into it because its more of a challenge than hunting with a rifle.i have a martin compound and a bear long bow. just remember to practice and be in the woods as much as possible to find the right place to be. you will be more likely to shoot a bigger deer during bow season.be safe and have fun out there and good luck!
