We lost two of our very own special firefighter paramedics, Captain Robin Broxterman and Firefighter Brian Schira during a catastrophic structure failure at 0600 hour, yesterday 4.4.08.

My husband and Robin started together in 1991 at Colerain Township Fire Department. They were not just coworkers. They watched eachother's backs during many fires. Unfortunately, yesterday, she died in the line of duty in the basement of a large home.

There are so many things I wish I could say, but I am at a loss for words.
We have such a huge broad family in this harsh reality of a career. But it hits close to home when it's someone you know.

Robin took care of me once, as I became not the firefighter's wife, but the patient as well, on more than one occasion. She did her job well.

She will be truly missed. And to Brian, who took the call ten minutes after his shift was up, you are truly honored today and this day forward for all you gave.
You both sacrificed the ultimate.

Much Love,

Kari
