Hello everyone. I just joined this group. I'm excited to get to know people and join in discussions. I'm a firefighter and first responder. I love doing both.

plus working full time from 1pm-10pm, and the fact our instructor will not let us ride along after 12am(she says were there to learn not watch the medics sleep), will make it hard enought just to get the 10 hours due to work and family life

yeah we have to do 10 hours of ride along time or 10 hours ER time. im doing the 10 hours ride time. however i think 10 is all im going to do (used to run on an ambulance crew down south for a few years, and from the ride alongs iv done up here, not much diffrent besides more cold weather emergencies and protocol) plus iv very very active on our rescue side.

in ny you can do what they call "on site testing" where they grade your test with in 30 mins and if you passed they issue you a temp emt card so you can practice at that level untill the regular card shows up a few weeks later
