In response to the Dear Chief......
When I was a FF long long ago, I had to radio the Chief to come to our station 2 so I could talk to him and not discuss the problem over the radio.
With that said.....He sent the Asst. Chief instead...I had to inform him I had crushed the passenager side door on our fire truck. A young firefighter whils backing me in had not closed the door tightly and while I backed up the ramp the door opened while entering the barn...ooooooooop's....or should I say OH CRAP. All turned out well, still hear about it from the guys now and then.
Since I've become Chief....I've heard alot..but not that yet.

I've spet 4yrs as Deputy Chief and two verrrrry long ones as Chief, I cant tell you the amount of B**l S**t one has to deal with as a small town Chief. But the ones that keep repeating themselves are "someone stole my gloves" {which are still at the last fire scene}, "my gear shrunk" {needs no explaining}, "wheres my nomex hood" {refer back to No. 1}, "How come he's driving my truck" {yes it happens}, "When did we get these" {followed buy, how come we don't have ______}. On a brighter side I can't express enough the pride when our men an women cut someone out of a mangled car, shock someone back to life or save their home. It's just the little stuff that tends to bring one down.

Ok..well... lol. here goes. My partner and I responded to a call on a report of smoke WAY out BFE. I sat both of our radios on the back of the tanker got dressed and we headed out. Well, I got my radio but my partner did not get hers. So when we got back we walked the road and drove a little way down the highway. When we finally decided it was lost, my partner went to tell the chief. He said he thought she was gonna cry so he couldn't yell at her really. Would have been nice if she ddin't yell at me tho. I still hear it and that was almost a year ago. Since then I have lost my own radio also. *dumbass* lol!
