Just wanted to know if anyone else has had a good experience with OnStar. I've had several other calls from onstar with accidents, people pushing the emergency button by accident, and one call where kids were playing in a car and pushed the button and were yelling for help. Most of these OnStar was not very helpfull. most of the time I ask if they had voice contact with the driver and ask to speak to the occupant to find out where they were really at and what was going on.. My opion changed last night. Our agency had a suicidal subject in vehicle that had been missing for about 1/2 an hour. No idea where he was at. The friends said that he had a GMC truck and it had OnStar and they had tried to call his cell phone number that was in his OnStar system. A light went on and I called OnStar and told them the situation. The operator I had was very helpful. He found the vehicle and was able to track it untill our deputies were able to get near the truck. It was stopped subject detained and was gotten to a mental health counceler. This made me change my thinking somewhat about OnStar and realize that if you ever want to "do yourself in" drive a Ford
