For some reason its easier for me to remember my goofs but I've been racking my brain for my best. I was thinking in 30 yrs did all I do is screw up? But I finnaly thought of a couple.

As an officer I have two that to me are equally good. I was a LT and we were covering another station while they were on a drill (ever notice how my company is either covering or assisting) We got hit out for an apartment fire. The drill over so several pieces left and responded so we were the 4th engine in. We were the only engine to drop a line. It was my habit to grab the 2.5 to use as a quit supply until the LDH could be pulled. As we passed 2 engines in front of us the driver almost hugged us as we bought the line. And later while we and other crews were waiting for orders it was me (LT) and several Deputies from the other companies. The IC asked me for my crew to take in an additional line. I felt kind of proud because he knew me and felt my crew could do the job.

Also, we were having a rash of fires. We had just got back from the county meeting and the Chief, myself and another member were out front talking and this guy walks and says very calmly "Ms Washam's house is on fire again" We laughed like yeah right, He said look and over the neighboring house you could see the glow. I grabbed the red phone to call it in, ID'd myself, gave them the address, told them to cover the station when 304 responds (your 2nd out engine)

Well we're ready to roll and the chief is no where to be seen, so I jump up front and rollout. (he was on the other side of a pick up truck and had bent down to pull up his bunkers) It was my first in district working house fire and everything went perfect. Laid in, I told the crew to hit the exposurers since the house was abanded then attacked it once we got the supply line and more manpower.

As a driver was first time I drove the squrt and it was a 2 alarm fire (see embarassing moments part 37 going the other direction. Felt real good because I got the boom up in record time even though I had to keep chasing the chief away from moving the boom every 5 mins.

I'm now a Fire fighter in the Air Force but at the time I was working with my volunteer house driving our 2nd due ambulance. We were at our neighboring departments carnival, I was walking around waiting for awards to be handed out. A gentleman came up to me and said "thank you." I told him "I'm sorry but I don't remember you." He said "You worked on me in my time of need a couple months before." I said "your welcome" and we talked a little bit about nothing in general. Its just always nice to here a Thank you from someone you've helped.
