If u are working or volunteering , or just straight hanging out at the firehouse ...
tell us who u are , where you are from , and the plans u got for this holiday .
ill start :
im luis campos and im a explorer/reserve for BSO Fire rescue in So Fla
ill be at station 27 (pembroke park /west park) 1 engine 2 rescues
Red white and blue donuts in the morning , BBQ ribs for dinner and after dark we will watch the fireworks from the roof of the brand new station ( first 4th of july at the new house)
and in between it all we will run like 36 calls with at least 2 fires for sure ;)
It'll be just the 4 of us on shift. Probably going to bbq and kick back. It's going to be dead out on the airfield. Unless a stray firecracker causes a fire around the airport we won't be doing much of anything. Just a usual Saturday at Chennault AFB, LA.
Hey
Explorer Captain Marc Hurwitz here. I am in the Los Angeles City Fire Department. I will be working @ FS58 (1 engine, 1 truck, 1 rescue ambluance, 1 pump...Taskforce setup), LaCienega Heights/West LA. We will do training in the morning, then we will hang the flags off of the hose beds. Then we will do our regular day, probably get 12-20 calls with atleast 2 of them beening structures and most of the other being burns, then we (the engine) MIGHT get moved up to Culver City Fire Station 1 to cover for them while there station is at the fireworks show.
Then (if we stay @ the station and not get moved up) we will throw the arieal ladder to the roof and bring up the barbque and a bunch of chairs and have a barbque on the roof, while watching the fireworks show from Culver City High.
i cant find any pictues of it i know i got some at the station......but we hang em off of our rear hose bed!!!
people always honk when we fly thekm. We also fly them on 9/11 and memorial day.
Not everyone does it, but lots of companies do.
we try to honor the USA and our heros as much as we can ... we are not even allowed to hang a flag honoring the 343 at the new station .... its BS i know
