Basic wildland training is approx. 40 hrs. You need to take S-130 Firefighter Training, S-190 Intro to fire behavior, L-180 Human factors on the fireline and I-100 Intro to ICS. Standards for survival is part of the S-130. You will also have to take the pack test. 3 mile hike with a 45# pack in 45 min. This will get you your TypeII firefighter quals.
CalFire has boosted their wildland quals from 67 hours to almost 100 but I think they have thrown in a few more non-wildland things such as fire responder and HAZ-FRO. Jim has the basics right. S130(131)/190, L-180 and ICS 100 (which you can do on line) I would also get I-200 as well (also on line) and S-212 (chainsaws/faller B) and maybe S215 (wildland/urban interface fire ops). Get in shape (the arduous pack test Jim mentioned is for USFS and is a good baseline in my opinion). Many applicants for seasons this year were lumps! You are almost out of time to do this in time for this fire season. Drop me a line if you have more questions. Good luck.
