We have this problem in the area a fire departmant that has had some problem's with M/A calls that didn't go so well. And how the M/A departmants have said that they will not use this one department. This has been going on how for two months I fill that the Chiefs could have set down and talk about it but No that would be like setting a group of 2 years down. So the M/A Chiefs put the firefighters and public safety in the back seat. So who should be put first the firefighters and public or the Chief or could I be so off base with this.
Of course the literal answer is the Firefighters and the Public. However, being a Chief I know that this can be a touchy subject at best. Our M/A departments do no operate nor have the skills that we do. When we ask for M/A we know the level of FF we are going to get and account for that to accomplish the job we are working on. When we provide M/A we know how they function on their scenes and take steps to protect ourselves and the public as best we can under these circumstances. Thats a million dollar question.

Same here only the training part, we do work well together, and if either Dept. has something to offer the other while onscene in the way of learning something new, we all listen in to better ourselves and the Dept.
