What I think...

I dont give a rats ask if you are black, white, male, fermale, career, vollie, contract, municipal, federal, state or martian.

I think:

Discussions about career vs vollie are pointless!

Discussions about women in the fire service more pointless!

Discussions about race in the fire service even more pointless!

I care about these things:

Are you capable of doing the job

Are you going to be there when the crap goes bad

You are smart enough to recognize a loser and make the tough decision to get your ff's out of harms way regardless of who or what is inside

You can get me water in a timely manner

You care enough to train even when it isnt what you want to do

You are a firefighter...

Unfortunately the people who start that sort of thread probably don't have the intelligence to understand what you've said. Either that or they'r just trying to build up their FFN rating. I'm with you Allen. Of course, you could have mentioned POV lights, what's in your pockets, juniors running lights and sirens to jobs etc...
