Yellow-Working firefighters
Black-Untrained
Blue- EMS only

Mean? do they mean what? mine is the color of my helmet period! I look at it all day and it never says a thing to me?

Black w/ Red sheld- Lt.
Black w/ Black sheld-Firefighter
Black w/ Orange sheld-Probe
Blue-EMS
Yellow-Cadet
in theone dept i run with its the same except orange is what juniour members wear.and the other dept white helmet is chiefs and then the color of the frontice on the helmet is a diff color to show what rank they are

White-Chief and Deputy Chief/ Red-Capt. and Lt. and Engineer/ Black-firefighters
It seems we are the only ones who use yellow for firefighters.
