What Do You Carry?

We were sitting around the firehouse table the other day talking to a couple of rookies and the subect came up (as it always does) of what tools do you carry with you in your turnout gear an how do you carry them...

So, In my right bunker pants pocket I carry 20' of 1" tube webbing and a carabiner. In the left side is a back-up flashlight and IV set up pack.

In my right jacket pocket in a old "hose pouch" I have channel locks, screwdriver, punch and knife.

In the left side I have Door chocks, nails, shove knifes, 8' section of webbing...

How about you guys?

I carry fire gloves,extrication gloves,latex gloves,2 radios(high and low band),compass,flashlight,Spanner wrench,cutting pliers,battery wrench,saftey glasses,center punch,paper and pen,lighter and smokes

God dog, I bet ya'll jingle and jangle when you guys walk around lol :P

I used to have a pair of spring loaded linesman pliers that I carried in my pocket. Seems someone had more need for em than I did. The only other thing I carry is my auto center punch, I couldn't tell you the last time I used it. Most of the time the windows already busted or I'll use the anntena off the car. I just never like the idea of filling my pockets and weighing an additional 20 lbs.

WOW JAKE, I'M GLAD TO SAY I ONLY CARRY A FLASH LITE, AND GLOVES NOW, I'M A ENGINEER, AND ANYTHING I MAY NEED IS IN THE TOOL BOX, OR AT MY FINGER TIPS SOME PLACE ON THE RIG.

Almost all of my firefighting is done on the back of a grass rig, so I don't carry much because it's on the truck. I do have a little pouch that hooks on my suspenders for some "girlie" essentials, such as Carmex, eye drops, hand lotion and tissue. (where is that "embarrassed" icon??)

xtra structre gloves, extra nomex hood, a case for my glasses (prescption) for when I put on my scba, smokes, and a zippo LOL

Webbing, spanner wrench with a punch and gas valve shut off, Wedge,flashlight, uh..gloves, extrication gloves on my jacket. CPR mask inside pocket and knife. Lost my seatbelt cutter, which used to be in my coat pocket.

So Jake, do you fall over with all of that? LOL

Gerber Knife
Getting rope and bag for FF survival
and other than that anything i need is on the apparatus or else i make do with what i have.
almost forgot the can of skoal. that's a necessity.

Webbing with biner, laytex gloves, flat and phelips screw drives, wood wedges, safety glasses for extrication, bail out kit, wt radio, locking pocket knife, dikes (cutting pliers), and a folding spanner!!!
