Our county has done this for years but we call it "Battle Of The Bucket". We use high telephone poles with a cable between them and have used a bucket, a keg and the latest has been a ball, all have been attached to a chain to slide back and forth on the cable.

To prevent any wild hose action to a team or any problems, a safety person is assigned to the gated hose lines to shut them down to prevent injuries or damage during a contest.
