My heart was broken again today as I read the story here on FFN about the line of duty death and injuries that occurred Friday night in Bryan, Texas.

Lt. Eric Wallace was killed and three others were injured when a roof collapsed as they were working inside the Knights of Columbus Hall..

Please keep Lt. Wallace, the injured, all the families and the Bryan Fire Department in your prayers.

Let us hope the injured will make a speedy recovery.

Rest in peace Eric.

Rest in Peace Brother Eric.  Rest assured we will take it from here and do our best to honor your memory.

Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to those injured.

Norm, a second fatality has been announced.

Lt. Gregory Pickard, 54, died between 4:30pm and 5:30pm at UTMB in Galveston due to burn wounds and smoke inhalation.

The other two remaining firefighters injured are still reported in critical condition at UTMB.

Terrible news.

Thanks, Oldman.

Our prayers are with Lt. Pickard's family. May he rest in peace.

We hope the two firefighters will recover.

We are looking to put a care package together for Bryan Firefighters Mitch Moran and Ricky Mantey, who are the firefighters at UTMB Galveston burn unit.  If anyone is willing to contribute some department patches, challenge coins, t-shirts, or anything like that, it would be great!  If anyone is interested, they can go to http://bryanfdrecovery.blogspot.com/  .  Mitch is one of my best friends, and before joining BFD, was (and still is) a member of my VFD outside Bryan.  This has hit a lot of us hard, and we are trying to show them how much the fire service supports them.

Thanks,  Joe

Thank you Joe for advising us of the efforts to support Firefighters Moran and Mantey.

We'll do our best to keep the ball rolling so as many as possible may participate.

Our continued prayers for their recovery.

Rest in peace brothers.

We will be praying for the two injured to recover quickly.

Firefighters Mantey and Moran continue their long journey to recovery.

Just reminding everyone to keep them in your prayers and follow their progress at
