The show Rescue Me
Does any of you watch the show Rescue Me? It's on every Tuesday nights and the guy's name is Dennis and I saw him in Worcester,MA for the 6 firefighters that did not make it. We went to that sight.

This topic has been on here a couple times or more. Dennis Leary who playes Tommy Gavin on the show is a big supporter of the fire service. The leary foundation raises money to purchase apperatus and built training facilaties for FDNY,Boston Fire & Worcester. Dennis Learys' Cousin was one of the Worcester 6. Also Rescue me doesn't go to far off the mark when showing life in a city fire house. Many of the extras are actual FDNY firefighters or retired FDNY. A couple of the firefighter characters who've had fairly substantial roles were at the time still on the Job at FDNY.
I've seen post on here about how it makes firefighters look like drunks...Only the Irish ones...Oh and maybe us Kraut firemen are drunks.lol.
As I've said befor you may not like the show. Well guess what drive or fly out to NewYork..Go to a fire house in the Bronx, Bedsti or Flatbush..One of the Ghetto houses...You tell those guys how you feel about Rescue me and how you think it is a negative thing. Then get on here and let us all know how that when for ya.
Bottom line is..Doesn't matter what anyone thinks what matters is what the Brothers on FDNY think about Rescue me.
Yes I know nothing negative was said, but trust..They'll be posting soon..I thouight I'd head some of them off.

John Crabbe, you know Dennis Learry he does the part of Tommy Gavin on that show in NYC at that firehouse and the show is on every Tuesday night.

I think this season is completely horrible. It's not even about firefighting, its about tommy gavin deciding whether or not to stop drinking and burdening his friends and family with his actions. You can learn somewhat from it i guess....

This "Rescue Me" sucks. I worked in FDNY for almost 35 years and every once in a while we would end up with a schmuck like this guy Leary portrays. Believe me it didn't take long to straighten him out or let him know he would be better off some place else.
Another show a couple of years ago was "Third Watch". It was just as bad in that it portrayed the EMT's and NYPD members as the heros who did all the work, and the firefighters as buffons. Always kidding around and causing mischief.
It took me two episodes of both shows to show me where they were going. Leary does a lot of good work for deseased firefigters and their families. But I still can't watch his show.
