Today I received an e-mail with some pretty graphic pictures the point of the e-mail was to highlight the reasons why we shouldn’t TEXT and drive, I am sure some of you may have seen these pictures. They are pretty nasty pictures. I understand the point that people are trying to get across but these pictures show a license plate number and graphic pictures of an individual that was pulled from this vehicle including facial pictures. I really don’t think this is appropriate or respectful to the family or the individual pictured. With technology being the way it is I am sure that there are a lot of pictures being taken at incidents by the public and firefighters, everyone is carrying a phone that can upload videos and pictures to the net in seconds .  Does your department have a policy regarding taking pictures at the scene? If so what is it? I have taken pictures of structures, fires and MVCs but not until after victims have been removed and never and pictures of victims . Pictures and videos taken from a scene can make great training tools but I think we need to practice some discretion and respect those to injured or deceased  and thier families
