Hey Guys im starting to get into ems been a FF for two years going to do a ride along with Rescue Squad monday just wondering is it okay to wear shorts with high tactical boots or is that just weird or looks ridiculous thanks.
Wear something close to what the Department you are riding with wears....I am sure that they either have a "uniform" or they have a "dress code"....I personally don't think shorts are appropriate for personnel on duty....
Yea thats What i was thinking but the place that sells the ems tactical pants isnt open till monday and im doing it monday at 9:00 AM so i was just doing it until i can buy some pants that afternoon

First off, it really doesn't matter what the temp is where you are, it matters what the uniform policy of the dept is. If this is your dept, you should know your requirements, if this is a different dept, then conform to their standards.
As for tactical boots with shorts...Sorry NO. You will seriously look like a tool and not in a good way. We have just gone to duty shorts with my dept and many of us love the shorts. However, we still have to have safety shoes. The nice thing is there are many safety shoes that are now out there that look like regular tennis shoes. I have a pair of Skechers that work and feel fine, I know another guy that has Chuck Taylors. If you are authorized to wear shorts and need safety shoes, take a look into a local farm and fleet type of store or shoe store and get a pair like that. Otherwise if no safety toe requirement, look into just regular black tennis shoes. Just don't do the tactical boots with shorts.
Good point, another thing you could pick up at a farm and fleet type of store. Dickies has some decent work type of pants that could pass as uniform pants.
Wal-Mart has Dickies for around $15 and as for it being 100 degrees where you are it gets over 120 here and we wear pants even under our turn outs. If you can't handle 100 degrees without wearing shorts maybe you might need another career choice.
