I used to be both a fire fighter in training and and at one time a fire explorer . What I really hated was when drivers would leave and be short of 2 people required by the sop's of the department i used to be on and i finally brought it up at a department meeting one thursday night at the end of traing and never had a problem with it afterwards. I want peoples take on this topic
I'm confused, Justin could you do us all a favor and tell the whole story. Slow and plain so that we can all read and understand. Thank you, I'm not being critical but you have lost me.
to me it depends on: who's on board the truck, type of call, how long since the tones went out, and also how valuable the person pulling in is... line officer/ff vs. probie/junior/non-pack... a truck might roll if chief and assistant chief is different than ff/driver and a truck full of juniors/probies
If you are not on the truck before I am moving, I'm not stopping unless I happen to be by myself. Yes our engines usually roll with only one on board occasionally two like it or not it works for us, average response time last year 6.5 minutes, and we cover 120 square miles.
i have had that happen but like everyone said what was the call ive had then drive right by me as i was getting my gear on by the front of the truck not right in front of it lol it happens dosent mean that your not important just happens to all of us at times
