Good video!!
Thanks Nova. Definitly sharing this w/ some key training officers. Will also being digging into your posts for more. This has-been fire instructor gets real excited about how so many things have developed so well. I would have loved this one "back in the day". Thanks again. Viaje con Dios.
Some of my guys aren't big enough to throw a scuttle ladder on their shoulder. An extension ladder would kill them. Me, on the other hand might still be able to do it, but that is why I'm a Captain, so I don't have to.
Saw this video on "thebravestonline.com" I feel the same way about it now as I did then.....I think you have a bout a 30% chance of being succesful and a 70% chance of hurting yourself.

If you have to do it on a fire to get a grab then rock on doing it around the firehouse you are asking to be off for a while with an injury. I mean we lift 500 lbs people all the time but its not like we go looking in the district for them to practice it. I am all for training but this just seems like something we are not gonna do.

I do commend them for puttin it out there though some one some where probably thinks its great.
BTW Johnny Utah nice "Point Break" ref with your sign off
They certainly produce some intersting training videos.

This one won't happen here - Occ Health & Safety would tear apart the trainer. I think they would be right too -I think this is a recipe for injury. That ladder would be classed as a two person lift and hoist.
