We are using ISI packs right now and would like to switch to Scott packs like our brother dept. I was wondering if there is any real advantage to the scott over the ISI? And for a second item was wondering if anyone knew of a place to pick up some scott packs used or reconditioned if possible?

We have tried the grant system but with our department being so small we didnt get the grant. So now we are looking for alternatives to get what we want and need. We dont have alot of money to run on and we dont get alot of calls a year, but we need good equipment to do our jobs.
You can look at Dalmatian fire (or maybe it's safety)and see what they have. Sometimes they've got some late model used. Are there any advantages to a sott over a ISI? You mean besides reliability and ease of use?
I would not say scott is reliable. Our NxG's are horrible. Nothing but problems, bottles leaking, electronics including the pass failing, batterys going dead and a couple of regulators seizing. We even had service techs come and work on them and didnt fix much. we had the bottles redone only to have a few of them start the same problem. I would rather go back to the 2.2's or 2A's atleast they worked.
I have no problem with Scott airpaks. our dept has switched back to 30 minute bottles instead of 45 minute ones.
Next Gens had some issues but the upgrades have eliminated just about all of them PROVIDED they were updated properly.Simple answer to the problem is stick with the 50's/75's.Bullet proof!
