In Frazer Township Pa we have a party at the station for the kids. It's a pretty rural area so it's not too safe to have the kids coming out to the street to see santa
We don't do it in our dept., but we do give ol' Santa a ride on the firetruck in our annual Christmas Parade.
It sounds like a pretty cool idea though.
No but sounds fun ... We do however have a Toys For Tots day, which was today, where we get names of the needy in our district and bring toys to those needy. No Santa though. Will need to bring this up in a meeting.
Here in Maine we give the Claus couple a ride in our annual Christmas candlewalk and parade to the community tree lighting. We also collect and distribute gifts through our Operation Christmas Angel program. Our association started this about 10 years ago and has seen it grow from 1 family the first year to over 150 this year. Our Chaplain and others work to obtain donations, screen requests from families, match up age and gender appropriate gifts, get them purchased and wrapped. We then deliver them on Christmas morn with the trucks and FF's. No better way to start Christmas day than delivering toys and winter clothing to those in need!
