It's been tradition for each year's graduating Cadet class to give the Chief of Training a memorial gift. Some previousgifts have included: a fire axe with a plaque mounted on the head of the axe engraved with the graduating Cadets' names, an old SCBA air cylinder with a plaque mounted on the body with the graduating Cadets' names, a clock with the department's patch engraved in it along with the graduating Cadets' names on it, and also an alligator statue (these statues were works of art and a limited number were constructed, we're in Louisiana so it's a cajun thing) painted to look dressed in bunker gear with an actual bullard fire helmet.

Some of the guys (there are 13 of us) were thinking about maybe a Bullard UST helmet with all of our names on a leather front with the helmet mounted to a plank with a little plaque on it. Also the idea of an old run down fire truck that we could restore and have it left at the training center for all to see (of course the working parts of it wouldn't be restored, just the body). However, this idea seems to be a lot more difficult to actually perform. We've got 13more weeks left of the academy so we have a little bit of time to think. If anyone has any ideas we would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks, TCSS
