Yes. What are you burning and what type of extinguisher are you using? How big is your fire going to be? What are your exposures  around your live burn? How many guys have had any fire extinguisher training and how much? All questions that have to be answered before we do any extinguisher training.

Hi Derek, thanks for the reply. The plan is for a propane gas cylinder connected to a steel container. A bit like the old gas BBQ, so its ignited at distance and a controlled environment.  Extinguishers would only be water, foam and powder too much mess!!! no CO2. Class size is around 8 and probably all first timers.  The idea is for fire wardens and just to give them the opportunity to squirt a big red aerosol!  We try and ask the client to provide a wide open space, but sometimes expect you do do this in a car park!!!

So am after any matrix type risk form anyone has used to put one together.

See you just did your risk assessment. You are going to want to make sure you are not near ditches or manhole's with your propane. Remember propane is heavier then air so it will want to find a low spot to go. So if the gas doesn't get shut off when fire is put out you could possible be setting yourself s up for trouble. Good luck with your training. Stay safe.
