Volunteer firefighter William R. Henry of Brookland, Arkansas has left a hole in the hearts of many people, from his wife and children to those who fought the flames at his side. Fire Cheif Steve Beck stated:“He was the type of guy you wanted to be like,” “He just wanted to be a good father and husband and to take care of his family. I don’t think you could’ve paid him a higher compliment than that.”He had gotten off work [the day of the accident] and was on his way home. The night before, he’d been out working a fire with us until 1 a.m. He went home, got a little sleep and headed back to work. His life was one of doing the right thing and being there for his family and community. Rest In Peace Brother!
Henry, 44, was killed Feb. 27 in Paragould when his car was struck along U.S. 49 by another vehicle that crossed two lanes of traffic and into Henry’s path, according to the Arkansas State Police (ASP) Web site.
