im lookin for some advice or comments on the online coursed. the web site is called trainingdivision.com it says you can take online coursed for fighter 1and 2 as well as haz mat. then you go to texas for some hands on test.. they say it is ifsac certified so iam lookin for some feedback on the quality of this
i gotta agree. not to sure id want to take FF1 or a haz mat class online. besides doing it online u miss out the "tricks of the trade" that the experianced FF's and instructors give out.
but as far as your nims and ICS classes i would check out http://www.nfaonline.dhs.gov/ the NFA online
Josh if you are on the job check with your training officer, if not check with the members of your local fire dept./dist. and see what they have to say on your question. Another good source is your local community college to see if they offer the courses that you are looking for, definitely look into going to at least EMT class, if not paramedic as many depts. also want you to have these certifications as well. Good luck and hope tht you enjoy the job.
hey jack im currently a with a dept volunteer program in hawaii. there is not really a proboard or ifsac cert school.. as for the community college they have a fire science degree... but as for preparing a resume the only options are online or getting in with hawaii full time.. you know how the economy is so im keepin all my options open to get a career job. so i though may be the online thing with the hands on experience at the end of the program could be a start any way the web site is traningdivision.com so let e know what you think later
