I found parts of the show on youtube, has to DVDs might be hard to find unless someone has a series of VHS tapes to copy to DVDs or some puts them on DVDs. Emergency has been coming our regularly.
I haven't seen Code Red in a hundred years !! I loved it. "Emergency" is being broadcasted lately in the afternoons. I get a kick out of it everytime Gage and DeSoto respond to calls. Way too funny !!
I was an intern for the exexcutive director ISFSI at the FDIC in Memphis the night that program was first shown. we were excited because this was the second show about firefighters that had come out since emergency. before CR there was a show called firehouse. code red was unusual but we accepted it as "entertainment". The public however accepted it as "thats the way the fire department really is" so when the 12 yr old son of the chief jumped into the cab of the engine and went on a call, there was a panic about every kid in the country wanting to do that for real (guess thats where the junior program came from). the show appealed to everyone in a family, the strong father, the good wife and mother, the responsible son, the rebel son that lived on a houseboat and the young son that got in the trouble that was the episode. the firehouse that had everything right down to the fireboat and chopper pad so they were allways going on all the good calls and story lines that defied logic....my favorite character was the dalmation sophie...the director's favorite episode was the one where the chief decides to leave a trapped firefighter in a building and when everyone else wants to go in and get him the chief stops them and says " i cant risk any more men" it took several of us to stop him from throwing the TV out of the window...i have allways thought of these type of shows as the fire department version of baywatch
I haven't searched yet but hulu.com has a lot of old tv shows to watch in full episodes. hulu also has the old "Emergency" full seasons.
