Is this for real? Perhaps the red cord is not plugged in and it is all a joke? I can't imagine anyone with so little knowledge as to do this for real. The surge protector won't do much as far as I know, surge protectors are to protect against surges along the electrical line, like when the power comes back on or lightening hits the power line. Ground Fault Interrupters (GFI) would be better, they are made to cut power immediately as soon as trouble is detected, like touching a power plug while standing in a puddle outside, or if you drop the electric razor into the full sink while shaving.
