Hey everybody, my name is Jesse Bruck, born and riased in Alexandria Ohio and i have always thought that being a firefighter would a awsome job. I'm pretty much new to it all but cant wait to learn. I only have certificates for cpr, aed, and first aide. Im starting school down at Hocking College Jan. 5th and cant wait. Just wondering if you guys have any pointers to help get through school and just anything that a newbie would find helpul. i have been down to my local volunteer dept. and they are real cool and are going to give me all my gear to get through fire school, im going to try and volunteer for them asap. Any advice would be great! Thanks.
Nick i couldnt tell you exactly but i want to say just the bare courses and course fees are about 8,000 for everything, fire and medical classes. obvuiously that dosent include housing and food and all that. i have all the paperwork with all the costs in my truck but i left it up at the farm tonight. ill check it out tomorrow and let you know forsure.
Take as many fire related classes that you can down there. Be very attentive in the EMS classes. I personally know at least three people that went there and had to retake medic school. They were not prepared for the National Registry test when they got out of the program.
hey Nick, sorry it took me so long to get back to you but i looked and i was way off. just the courses are just under 3000. but you still got lab fees and books. just my Fire 1 book was 140. hope this helps
