I was having a hard time with trying to assist my departments with putting together a training program that would assist us in working together as a group when multiple departments were on scene together. After many months of searching, I compiled a list of Job Performance Requirements for FF1 and FF2. I put together skills competency check-off sheets for each skill listed in NFPA 1001. The results were good. This program allows my departmental training officers and their chiefs, to lay out a plan to complete every skill every two years. It also helps to provide detailed documentation of training for each individual firefighter. I then made this available to every department in my state. I then asked myself, why it should be limited to just South Carolina. You can see the product here:
