I have just gotten word that there is a bill being proposed in the Mississippi legislature that would basically eliminate the chances for local jurisdictions to adopt residential sprinkler ordinances.

I don't have all of the information on this as far as the particulars, but, if you live in Mississippi, contact your politicians and let them know you support residential fire sprinklers.

This comes on the heals of a multi-death fire that took place in Starkville, MS in an apartment fire. Nine people lost there lives in that fire that had it been sprinklered might not have happen.

Again, please let your politicians know you support residential fire sprinklers.

Stay safe and be careful.

Sounds to me that the builders associations are lobbying for this so they don't have to pay to have them.
These groups want to cut corners on building homes and apartment buildings so they can make a extra buck to put in their pockets.
Look at what they put in homes today compared to years ago as part of their construction. Once these high dollar palaces catches fire you better stand outside and pour water on it to keep it in place because you don't want to put firefighters inside that death trap.
