Memorial / Firefighters Timecapsule
What do you think should be in the timecapsule ?
Thank you to all who have contributed their ideas to this....
To Date: Timecapsule contains, 50th anniversary history of fire book, History of township book, photos of the Station and Firefighters over the years (hardcopy and CD), fire bell, fire pull station, smoke alarm, Ipod w/selected music, gold 911 coin, current coins & legal tender, 50th anniversary and country flag, current newspaper (seal date), copy of the NFPA Regulations, one copy of fashion magazine, clock (set to seal date), letters from children stating what they think the world will be like in 100 years, fire cap, t shirt, fire mug, keychain, fire posters...

Of course, a news paper of the day it went in, and a couple magazines (usa today, TIME etc.). Pictures of your apparatus and gear. List of FF in the house.How about a national flag (just in case the scientists are correct about 2012). But, if so, I guess it might not matter.
How long will the time capsule be buried?

Thanks, some people think its a mute point but its not, space is limited and the articles are critical. It will be hermetically sealed and set in reinforced concrete with the intent it may be transferred (if required) and not opened for at least a century...(one article will be a memorial 911 gold coin)

Wow, a century. Yeah, definitely bury some up-to-date, modern items. It'd be neat to be standing there 100 years from now to see those things when they come out. And, as well, as Derek mentioned, the days newspaper and a recent nationally circulated magazine.

How about a CD with the current NFPA Regulations. That will probably be worth a laugh or two in a hundred years!

Wow...a century....Then I would also add a couple more magazines like a teenager magazine, and a womens magazine and such, just to show the different lifestyles of our generation.
The 911 coin is a good idea, along with that put pics of the 2 towers, before and after.
How about a regular $1 bill.
How about an advertisement with the price of fuel.
What a good idea, this capsule.
OH, and maybe a pic of a POV done up with lights ..heheh..kidding
