Live In Programs

I know alot of volunteer departments on the east coast have live in programs for their firefighters. Just wondering if anywhere else around the country these are in place?

There are several small depts that do this for fire science students around the Madison, WI area. You get hired as an intern with the dept and live at the station while attending school, in exchange for duties and respose to calls.

I am a live-in in Laurel, MD and have researched this topic a while ago for my curiosity. Here's what I found:

Moscow, ID www.moscowfire.com; Weed, CA www.weedfiredept.com; O'Hara Township, PA www.guyasutavfd.org; Weir, TX www.weirfd.com; Windcrest, TX www.windcrestfire.org, to name a few. Hope this helps; I'll post more if I find them. Take care and be safe.
