Very prevalent in the 2-platoon system. When I was in the service we had an A shift and a B shift. 24on/24off. But everybody had there own Kelly Day. Mine was Tue if I remember. So I never worked a Tue even when A shift was on duty.

Your on Kelly day means you are off from work.

The fire district doesn't give us Kelly days, it's cheaper for them to just pay us to work rather hire people to give KD's.

My Kelly time is when I'm at my fulltime job LOL!!!
