CARLISLE, Iowa - According to a police report, Carlisle Fire Chief Scott Burger appeared to be drunk when he responded last week to a 911 call from a man whose wife was going into diabetic shock.

According to the report, a Carlisle police officer who confronted Burger after the incident said Burger admitted to violating department policy by drinking two beers while on duty.

It also says a breath sample indicated that Burger's blood alcohol was almost twice the legal limit.

Officers who were at the scene said Burger did not seem to be helping the woman effectively.

Burger, who has been placed on administrative leave, has not commented on the incident.

He's not a full time,paid ,Career,professional is he jack.Just askin?Can't be acting like it's a social club!
OMG! There goes another brick out the tower that was once built out of respect.
and you had the nerve to call me argumentitive jack?
We've both done the deed with less than clear eyes before.

Oh really? I prescribe to the 8 hours between the bottle and the nozzle.

If my FD does a recall, and I have had a beer.... I won't go.

My career and my pension is important to me... as well as the LODD payourt should I have an unfortunate demise.
douche
Is that the end of your snappy comebacks?
no...I'm sure I can come up with more. Assuming of course that you will continue to come up with your usual 'intelligent' repartee.
Twice the legal limit! How big were those "two" beers that he had? What the f*ck kind of Firefighter drinks at all when he/she is going to be responding to calls? Stay safe everybody!
big frown no drinking and driving and no drinking and responding to calls
Clearly what has happened here is this guy probably just ate something with Garlic in it and used mouthwash to get rid of his garlic breath in case of a call and the alcohol content made it smell and look as if he had alcohol in his system according to what I was told by other guys in other threads because a city guy would not treat his job as a social club instead of as a fire department and would not think of doing this.Just speaking from what I have been told!!!
