In Need for more voluntaries in our country
Good morning to all of our friends all over the world, My name Is Walter Salmeron I live in
Nicaragua, Central America, we are a 3rd world country, our government
cant afford to pay all the fire fighters we need to cover all the need for our
population, we have a very good number of voluntaries and we are trying to establish
an non profit institutions only for voluntaries like me, but in order to do
this we need help from others like us, and this is why I’m asking for every one
to pitch in their opinions and suggestions, we are rushing in to this matter
since our local authorities are donating a piece of property so we can build our head quarters,
but we need equipment, trucks, and utilities to accomplish this goal. I know
there are many among us that had help other countries in many occasions before,
so if you know of some one that can help meet our goal please tell us how to contact

Sounds like you need to form a association of volunteers. Some states have state fire fighter associations which include county associations. I wouldn't know how Nicaragua's make of is if you have states and what you would call counties. The associations are made up of leaders from stations in their areas and can work together to improve their services. Our county has a volunteer association, chiefs association and a fire commission which work together.
At one time we had a rescue squad association which formed with the fire association and formed the fire and rescue association.
As for equipment. I know some large cities in the US have old used equipment that gets pulled from service and sold off.
I remember when my own volunteer department went to New York City and bought a pumper from there and had it rebuilt to meet our needs.
The thing is finding surplus equipment somewhere.
There are websites to find used fire and rescue equipment.
