Seeing as there are over 47,000 of you on here now and I got on somewhere around page four or so, I haven't had a chance to meet many of you yet. I've got a little group I'm pretty happy with over at
Cancel The Engine and I have a blog going at
Firehouse Zen that I welcome you to check out. That all being said, I'm leaving an open invitation to friend me here on my
Firefighter Nation profile or over on
Facebook. Note that I've made it all easy for you with links and all.
My interest on here is to network. I'm not trying to score points or anything like that. I just happen to have the desire to share what I have learned in thirty years of leading high-functioning teams and the desire to learn what you see in your own world as well, whether you are a junior, a probie, or the crustiest jake on the street (or even a genuine coffee-cup toting chief officer like me).
So the door is open, I enjoy hearing from people, and although I'm not into dragging out conversations on the color of helmets and stuff like that, I'm wide open to discussions on change management, visionary action, and the future of emergency services as a whole. Like the Kodak people were probably saying when digital photography went through the roof, "We need to be thinking ahead to the next step." If you aren't thinking about what has the potential to be around the next corner, you won't even know it when it runs you over.
So I'm looking forward to meeting you, come on by and check out
Firehouse Zen, and feel free to say something. Don't be shy. I haven't bitten anyone today that you know of.
