I wan't to become a Jr. FireFighter for my local FD, but the problem is that my mom is trying to come up with every excuse she can for me not too. Like im to busy, she's to busy, it's almost christmas or (insert holiday), and etc. She also suggested that I try and start an explorer post insted. The thing is, My state hasnt had a very good record when coming to Fire exploring. The only Explorer program in my state has is an 2 hours away from me.

Here's a bit about me and my Fam.
My great Grandfather the Fire Chief for the DAFB (Dover Air Force Base) FD, My cus is a FF, and I have over 10 family members that are FF going beck 3 generation. Both my moms and my dads.
Im 15, soon to be an Eagle Scout and BlackBelt, and 300+ hours of com servis.

What could I do to change her mind.

Thanks,
Austin

I would take your mom to your local fire station and sit down with the advisor's and have them talk to your mom about what you will be doing, and what you will not be doing. And like some other people said most of the advisor's have been in the community for a long time and have watched you grow up and went to school with either your parents or their brothers and sisters so i think just take her there and see what she thinks of just being at the station the ppl and the way other ppl treat ppl and i thikn that will work the best.
Good point Keegan. Love her and be a good son.
