How would you ????

A call comes in for a possible plane crash in the middle of 10,000 acres of forest.. You arrive on scene to find a small plane in the trees, with possible victims that are still alive." SEE PICTURE" What would you do ??? Remember, your in the middle of a forest, so there are no roads for miles, small volly dept, with the closest high angle rescue approx. at least an hour out. Looking for any input......

Sometime ago we had a private plane crash in the woods after taking off between the airport and a road in our first due. The pilot was trapped in the aircraft but the two passengers were able to get out, one walking back to the airport the other toward the road. There was no Mayday unless the auto transmitter started sending a signal, but the 911 calls didn't happen until the two passengers reach the road and the airport but by the time the aircraft caught fire and killed the pilot. The problem we had was getting to the crash scene from either the road or the airport because of the thick woods and creeks. Everything had to be carried in to extinguish the fire. A firefighter friend of mine had to be taken to the hospital due a medical problem from treking into the sight because he became overheated from his turnout gear and the terrain and equipment he was carrying.

To add to this situation the nearby Air Force Base was having Armed Forces Day so there were flyovers of one of the military performance groups through the area because we are four miles outside the base.
