I came from a large department in New York
where we had 300 plus members. We also had
seven companies within the department. Each
company had a Captain & 2 lieutenants. The
department had as follows:
4- Chiefs
7- Captains
14-Lieutenants

In the small department i'm serving with here
in South Carolina, has approximatly 40 members.
We have as follows:
3- Chiefs
3- Captains
4- Lieutenants

So how many officers dose your department have ????

Wow Paul, and I thought I was in a small department,
well good luck, and stay safe brother.
I am on a full time career FD we have 20 stations, 20 engine companies, 5 truck companies, 3 squad companies, and 12 Fire Medic Units.

Each station has a captain and each suppression unit has a Lt on each shift there are 3 shifts. Additionally we have a battalion chief for each battalion (3) per shift and 2 EMS supervisors (capt) per shift. The there are the various administrative officers (training capt, lt, logistics capt and lt, safety capt, division chief of training, FMO,Human resources, Deputy chief of ops, deputy chief of Admin , Battalion of EMS, Battalion of FMO, PIO capt, FMO lt, Deputy of admin and the fire chief, lt of officer development, lt of planning)

So we have alot of officers but we have 560 uniformed people so I guess its not a whole lot
