HELP, SNORKEL TRUCK OPERATIONS
REQUESTING HELP SOMEONE THAT CAN HELP ME? I must remark, WE IN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT A TRADEMARK SNROKEL MACK, BUT WE HAVE NO INFORMATION ON: OPERATION, USE, SAFETY, AND THEREFORE WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE IN EMERGENCY, IF ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION SUCH USE TEAM, THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!

Yep, previous owner might have all the logs of maintainence, and inspections, and and and.. or not! Since it appears to be an old one.. (Do any apparatus manufacturers still use MACK?) I guess the first thing to do is get it safey inspected..not necessarily the ladder, but the truck itself. Make sure it is going to get you to an emergency before trying to take it to one. I would also think that the ladder/aerial device needs to be xrayed and inspected.. and I am sure it all costs ooodles of mooola.. ( $$$$$$$) Find a reputable inspector who can do all that work and sign off that the unit is safe. Then the final step would be hire a training service to teach you and your crew everything there is to know about the operation of that unit. After all those things are taken care of, maybe the unit will be ready to respond to an emergency.

Have you thought about contacting the manufacturer (Mack) and send them what info you have? They may be able to provide you with a manual etc to help you out. I would say check with them first.

It is not as easy as saying here is your info. Mack is the company that made the truck cab and the wheels underneath (chassis) The snorkel or aerial device on the top of your Mack was made by different manufacturer. You need to look at the snorkel and find a identification plate that says who made the unit. Probably near the control panel that makes it go up. Take pictures of the truck, the snorkel and the controls. Post them and you will get someone here to identify the unit.
