Rob from the Big Island, just popping in to say hello!  I was checking out the forums and found some great information on fireground tactics.  There's so much that can be learned here from the firefighters who have many years of experience.  It's also interesting to see how things are done in different agencies.

Welcome Aboard!
You know... the only problem with the big island is that the LEO's drive beat up POS vehicles... not fair! I got tagged for going over the speed limit on a road that seemed to be empty of anyone else. what a surprise when an old impala slammed a blue light on the roof and pulled me over... again, not fair! and yes, I know what they were thinking... "Damn Haoles..." I was the first haole to teach fire prevention on the islands from the states several years ago. The new requirements in the Uniform Fire Code (UFC) were just updated for hazardous materials and I was a part of the development process and taught UFC Article 80 for years. I taught in all four counties, including the big island. I continued coming back to the islands over a dozen times but then I wanted to sell my house and upgrade to a larger one... so much for my trips to Hawaii. I made many friends who considered my family to be a part of their ohana. I look forward to being able to return now that I have retired. :D
